Our sweet Josie will be 2 in August and we already want another one! 

My husband’s father was a breeder, so naturally they always had several family dogs. Parker (my husband) has had his favorites through the years, but he will tell you today “Josie is the best dog I have ever had. She is the sweetest, most loving dog I’ve been around.”

Thank you to Malachi (and his sweet family) for raising these amazing pups. Take 2 minutes to watch their social media videos and you will see how much time, patience, and love they give their puppies. You receive emails, photos, and updates throughout the entire process. After exhaustive research (my husband is a nerd), we saw that Steel City Puppies is the most honest, transparent breeder we’ve found. (And again, trust me, my husband did a TON of research.) SCP passed with flying colors!

Leia and the Gonzalezs

Leia has far exceeded any of our expectations! She received the therapy foundations training and I am so impressed! She is a calm and confident puppy. She understands all of the basic commands (come, sit, stay, down, leave it, etc.) and is nearly potty trained. I say nearly potty trained because any accidents that she has had have been 100% my fault for not letting her outside soon enough. Now that she has been with us a while and is familiar with our house, she sits by the door and waits to be let out. She tries to get along with other dogs and she loves playing with kids. You have certainly made having a new puppy easier! I attribute all of this to the way Steel City pups are cared for by Malachi and his family. I can’t imagine the time and dedication it took to achieve this level of training, and I am truly grateful for it. These dogs are treated as family members from the beginning. They are given names, not just numbers or collar colors, and they are treated with nothing but love and respect and kindness while being integrated into the household. Even when they go to new homes and are given new names, Malachi still remembers them. It is apparent to me that he truly cares for these dogs and wants them to be well loved their whole life. We are so thankful to have Leia and we are grateful for the care that she received at Steel City Puppies.

Chloe and Mowgli and the Ross's

It doesn’t matter how my day has been...Chloe makes it so much better!!! She just came up next to me on the couch and started giving me kisses and laid her head on my shoulder. She’s 13 months old now. Malachi Ray I can’t praise you enough for your puppies and the time and devotion you put into them. I had no doubt that Chloe would be the perfect fit for us. She’s the ray of sunlight in my heart. I don’t regret one bit bringing her into my home. Absolutely the best decision ever! She’s so smart and still remembers her commands you taught her. Mowgli, our black Labradoodle, joined us in July of this year. We decided to have Malachi crate train him. It was so worth it because Mowgli loves his crate. He plays in there and sleeps in it every night without any whining or barking-from night one. He’s now 6 months old and was completely house broken at 4 months. He’s full of energy and loves playing outside. He’s very smart too and picked up on basic commands very quickly by watching Chloe (sit, down, leave it, up, come). He just needs some training and time to chill and even out and he’ll be just as great as Chloe. The two of them are great together and have become best friends, even if he aggravates the mess out of her. It’s funny because he gets jealous if I give Chloe attention and not him, so he reminds me that he wants lovin too by getting in between me and Chloe anyway he can. It’s hard having two, but again, I don’t regret it. Their both wonderful dogs. Thanks Steel City Puppies for my two fur babies!

Rosie and the Greshams

Rosie joined our family 9 months ago, and we already can't remember life without her. She has added so much joy and love to our house.

We are first-time dog owners and have three children. To say I was nervous about having a dog would be an understatement, but Rosie has been a dream. She stayed with Malachi for a few extra weeks for Therapy Prep, and it was absolutely worth it. She came home almost fully potty trained, fully crate trained, and ready for life in a busy house. Malachi is amazing and raises the sweetest, most even-tempered, most lovable dogs. It is clear how much he loves what he does.

Rosie helps me wake the kids up for school each morning. She walks with them to school and in the afternoon waits patiently in the driveway for them to return. She is sweet to the neighbors, and sometimes even serves as a pillow for my kids. Seeing the bond between her and my kids makes me smile daily. I am so thankful we found Steel City Puppies. Adding Rosie to our family is the best decision we've made in a long time.

Bella and the Barbieris

We are preparing to be dog owners again, and I knew I wanted a goldendoodle. I looked at several breeders in the vicinity, and I was most impressed with Malachi and Steel City Puppies. He truly has a passion for what he does and the joy he brings to families. As we await the day when we bring home our new pup Bella, he has kept us well informed of her growth and her blossoming personality. He does great work with social media and uses it well as a platform to look inside his home where he takes care of the litters of puppies. As a new puppy owner, you are invited to his home to select your puppy and you see for yourself the wonderful and loving environment these puppies have. What speaks most about his expertise is the personality and good health of the dogs he has bred. I was impressed after following his posts through social media about what a wonderful temperament all of the puppies have. I think that is a great testimony to how he raises them. I couldn’t be happier with our decision to go with Steel City Puppies.

Francie and Jordan

I found the SCP website about 4 years ago. I was looking at breeders even though I was no where near ready to bring a doodle into my life. I absolutely fell in love with SCP. The puppies, the parents, the pictures and videos. I loved it all. I patiently waited and watched litter after litter go to their new homes until I was FINALLY able to email Malachi and get on the list for one of my own. Dealing with Malachi was great and he kept me posted every step of the way. I even have an ultrasound picture! He was always available by email and answered every question that I had. What really set SCP apart, to me, were the training options that they offered. I knew that I wanted to eventually do therapy work with Francie, so I loved that she could get a head start with socialization and basic commands through their Therapy Dog Foundations program. Waiting that extra month was hard, but SO worth the wait and the money. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have no doubt that Francie will make an amazing therapy dog and will bring joy to many people, but that will never compare to what she has done for me. Francie has changed my life in so many ways and all for the better. I am so much happier, more active and more social than I have ever been. Fair warning, you can’t walk down the street with a Steel City Puppy without being stopped by everyone that passes. To meet her is to love her and she eats up all the attention she can get. She absolutely loves children and is naturally so good with them, especially if they’re okay with getting a few kisses. She has the most amazing temperament. This is a testament to her parents and Malachi’s breeding. I can take her with me anywhere and she behaves so well. She is calm, good natured, and very smart. She picks up on any command that I teach her within minutes. I could go on forever about how amazing Francie is and how much I loved the entire SCP experience. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a doodle and I hope to someday add another SCP to my family. They are simply the best ️ ❤️

Elliott and the Conns

I searched the internet for hours looking for a breeder that was right for me. I wanted a breeder who had a training program, updated us on our puppy, and dog parents had great temperaments. We received our Goldendoodle, Elliott, from Steel City Puppies. He was our first Goldendoodle and we could not be happier with him or the breeder. Before he was even born, Malachi updated us weekly with how the pregnancy was going. After being born, pictures and videos were posted several times a week which really put me at ease. Elliott stayed for the Therapy Foundations program too and he did great! We have never had a puppy this easy. His personality is my favorite part of him though. He lies down to eat and drink, he watches TV, and he is so calm. He loves to play with his toys but isn’t rambunctious or hard to deal with. We couldn’t be happier with the breeder we chose.

Stella and the Jordans

Love our Doodle!! What else can I say - she has been such a wonderful addition to our family. She is sweet and beautiful and very smart. We have had other pets before but none that have been so well prepared to join our family and bring so much joy and instant bonding. It was purely by providence that we found Steel City Pups but we can't say enough good things about the whole experience. Murphy and the Shupes

Our sweet Murphy was the perfect addition to our family. In the 7 weeks we have had him, he has been on a dozen road trips, visited multiple places and has acted like he's been doing this for years. I'm glad we decided to do the crate training option. Murphy has been at ease in his crate from day 1. He sleeps in there even when he's not locked in. We didn't go through the rough stages of crate training as I've experienced in the past with long nights of whining and barking. We continued the routine Malachi had established with him and the transition into our home was smooth. He has not had any accidents in the crate and just 2 in the house, which one was totally my fault(not as fast as I once was).  Murphy was sleeping through the night by 10 weeks of age.  At 13 weeks of age, Murphy walks quietly on the leash and has been eager to learn basic commands. He truly is the most laid back puppy I've ever owned and I've received numerous compliments on his behavior and personality.

I highly recommend Steel City Puppies. I spent a lot of time researching goldendoodle breeders for over a year trying to find the perfect one.  I kept finding myself back on the Steel City website- really just stalking for any updates on upcoming litters, desperately wanting one.  Their puppies were the color and the look I had been looking for and they were just gorgeous dogs. As you can probably tell, I can't say enough about Malachi and his breeding program. We love our doodle and wouldn't trade him for the world.

My husband and I are researchers when it comes to buying most of the things for our home, and it was no different when it came to searching for the furry pup we wanted to call "our third child."

Once we decided that we wanted a Goldendoodle for our family, I took to the web and spent quite awhile looking for breeders in our area/state. There were a lot of them, but our search options had to be a little more advanced. We have a daughter who is on the autistic spectrum and wanted a breeder who provided training prior to us picking up our four-legged friend. That narrowed down the search considerably!

The very first website I stumbled upon was Steel City Puppies. As I looked through the site, I really got a sense of who they were and what great care they put into their puppies. I kept it in our favorites and kept searching, but no other place compared - in love and care, price point, and location. This was just based on their website alone.

As I started to communicate with SCP via email, they were very responsive, answered all of my questions, and kept us up-to-date throughout the waiting list process.

Once the puppies were born we were able to see pictures and videos almost every day. What was advertised on the website was indeed a reality - these puppies were loved and cared for in a safe, clean environment. The puppy selection process was easy and in the end we found the exact right pup for us.

We paid for the training and throughout the process were sent videos, pictures, and even a progress report so we could follow her progress. She came home to us knowing how to follow basic commands, potty trained, and has been amazing around our children. Even after having her home, SCP was readily available to answer any questions I had , and offered great advice for a successful transition.

I would definitely recommend SCP to anyone looking for a Goldendoodle, Poodle, or Labradoodle. It is completely worth the investment and we could not be happier with our choice.

This was the easiest, most well run process we've experienced. We looked for years for the right breeder & definitely found it at Steel City Puppies. We were notified at every event during the process, we never wondered what was going on at any point. SCP truly was an open book all the way through. FB & IG always had new pictures up of the puppies.  At puppy selection day you meet ALL the pups, nothing is hidden, & the puppy addition on their home is awesome!  You truly see how much the Rays care for these babies.

Our experience with Steel City Puppies was simply incredible – from their professionalism and responsiveness as a business to their overall quality of care and responsibility as breeders. My husband and I had been looking for a pup for more than a year and we never came across a family like this. I say family because that’s what they truly are. The care and attention they give to their dogs is unmatched.

As a business, Steel City Puppies was a dream to work with. I received a call back after my first email in less than an hour. Malachi was more than happy to speak about the puppies, their process, and in turn he also asked me several questions. He and Amanda really care about the people adopting their cuddle bugs, and that told me so much about the level of integrity at which their business operates. They welcomed us into their home and let us see not only the pup we wanted to adopt, but also their family – mom, dad, brothers, where they sleep, the toys they like, the food, etc. They even had a complimentary care package ready with vet referrals, medication literature, even a brand new comb that his poodles prefer. Our communication didn’t stop once we picked up Herschel, either. They always check in and answer any questions or give any advice we request. Malachi has gone above and beyond as resource.

Perhaps the best part about Steel City Puppies is how healthy and wonderful our Herschel is. The vet told us he couldn’t be in better health or have a better temperament. I know this is because of the care and love Malachi and Amanda gave to our boy (and his parents) before and after his birth. They provide a safe, loving, calming environment perfect for a growing pup and his dog family. Training has been a breeze and he is great with every human and animal he meets because of their dedication.

My husband and I are forever grateful to Malachi, Amanda, Teddy and Sadie!! Herschel has brought so much joy and fun into our home. Our love for him grows every day. It was an honor to adopt him from your lovely family and exemplary business.

It is my pleasure to recommend Steel City Puppies. I got my baby Opie from them 6/7/14, and he is so sweet and was so easy to house train. They updated me weekly with pictures.
