Doodle Romp 2021

We have already had an awesome reunion/romp this past weekend. It is always a great time letting the pups reunite and play. We should do another one this year when it is much warmer!

Upcoming Litters!

We currently have Stella bred with medium sized bernedoodles, and Pepper bred with small mini goldendoodles. We will be ultrasounding them for puppies within the next 2 weeks! Fingers crossed!

Next, we should have Willow breeding for mini goldendoodles and Muffy breeding for standard goldendoodles. Neither has gone in heat yet, but it should be soon! This will be Muffy’s last litter before retirement. So if you want a standard goldendoodle from Reba/ Teddy/ Muffy bloodlines this is your last opportunity!

New Training Option!

New for 2021, we have created a 2-week training program, exclusive for Steel City Puppies, to help with common puppy problems. Instead of puppies going home at 8 weeks old, they will now go home at 10 weeks if in this program. This means 2 extra weeks with mom, aunt, uncle, siblings to help create a more socialized puppy and lessen problems like nipping. Learning Sit and Stay will be included. Crate Training is not included. The program is called “Basic Manners Foundations” and is $1000.

New Transportation Option!

In 2021, we had several difficult experiences using flight nannies. The majority of flight nannies work for the airlines and can only fly stand-by. So, if there are no extra seats available, your puppy is not getting on that flight. Then your puppy is stuck with a stranger for who knows how long until they can find another flight. So I have taken matters into my own hands, and if you would like your puppy driven or flown to you by the owner of Steel City Puppies we have the VIP (Very Important Puppy) Delivery. The cost of this service is $1000 for transport to any major airport in the USA.

Steel City Doodles®

In the future, we are going to have a lot more puppies with several breeds mixed in. So many that “Creating” a name for them would just be silly. For example, we will probably breed Ridlee to Sus, and I would prefer not to call them Australian BerneCavapoos. Haha. In this case, they will just be identified as Steel City Doodles®, and I will highlight them as being an Australian Labradoodle, Bernedoodle, and Cavapoo cross. Yes, they are just mutts, mixes, mongrels (if you prefer that term) to some, but to me they are all matched for a reason. Each breed and each parent bringing something different to the table that I think will help create the perfect puppies. So in the future when you see me start using the term Steel City Doodles just know it is a custom blend of several breeds.

The Disappointing News

We have actually have had great luck lately, but everything can’t be perfect. As you may know, we test our adults for diseases like hip dysplasia. Romeo and Hugh, two of our hopeful future studs, were tested over the past several months and did not pass their pennHips. This does not mean they have hip dysplasia, but that they are more likely to produce offspring with dysplasia than the average adult of their breed. We are going to get second opinions before deciding what to do, but of course, this is not the news we wanted.

The Exciting News

The great news is in 2020 we had several adults pass their genetic testing. Harley just passed hers. Sus passed the DNA portion and has the perfect coat genes that we need. Then the other exciting news is we just got a new little stud Muffin, Chip! He will hopefully sire our mini and petite goldendoodles next year!

Available Puppies in 2021

We have very limited availability left for the year.

Standard Bernedoodles- If Stella has a nice sized litter, then we should have one or two available soon.

Mini Bernedoodle- This will be Stella’s second litter and we are not taking deposits yet. Very end of 2021.

Petite Bernedoodle- All sold out. Probably beginning of 2022 before available.

Standard Goldendoodle- Last planned litter of Standards and will be Muffy’s retirement litter. Due around April. Very Limited Availability.

Mini Goldendoodle- Rosie should be having some around September, these are larger minis. Limited Availability. Gemma and the Beans probably all sold out until early 2022. Willow probably won’t have any available until early 2022.

Small Mini Goldendoodle- Pepper’s next available litter will probably be around October 2021, but we will not start taking deposits until her current litter is born. Cardi possibly could have a litter this year, but we are not taking names until she has more health testing.

Petite Goldendoodles- Ember has no availability. When JellyBean breeds, those already on Ember’s list will have first access.

Medium Australian Labradoodles- Only one litter, and it will be around July 2021. Several spots open.

Cavapoos- The moms must pass their health testing first before we take deposits. Then we are looking at a possible Summer litter and maybe end of the year litter.
